AN AREA RENOWNED FOR ITS MILK

Padania Alimenti is a dairy manufacturer based in Casalmaggiore. Located on the left bank of the Po River in an area renowned for the quality of its fresh milk, it provides Sammontana with the essential ingredient for our Cinque Stelle gelato.

A TASTE OF THE PADANA AREA

Cream is the richest part of milk and is obtained by skimming it off the surface to separate it. Its gleaming white colour is as pleasurable on the eyes as the taste is on the lips.

While in scientific terms, cream is considered an emulsion, for us it is synonymous with delicious taste that can be enjoyed in a multitude of ways, from a spoonful in a dessert recipe to a pastry filling or mouthwatering cake topping. It finds its perfect iteration, however, in soft, creamy gelato!

THE STORY BEHIND FRESH CREAM

Producing high-quality cream is a complex and delicate process. It comes from fresh milk that is heated to a temperature of 72-75° within 48 hours of milking to reduce bacteria.

A PROTECTED PRODUCT

The cream used for Cinque Stelle gelato is made exclusively from Italian milk, and is processed through a rigorously-monitored supply chain to ensure the very best quality. Every day, it is processed within hours of milking.
